Dubai 3rd round : Caroline Wozniacki ousted by Shahar Peer 2-6, 5-7.

There was no coverage of the match but what i've seen of the statistics of the match, Caroline played a very disappointing match to say the least ! She faced breakpoints at each of her service games and only held twice on ten service games played during the match. That's not what you should expect at all from the n°3 in the world !

Caroline only won 2 out 10 service games!!
Aces: 3
Double faults: 4
1st serve %: 60
1st serve points won: 19/45 (42%)
2nd serve points won: 11/30 (37%)
Total service points won: 30/75 (40%)

Shahar Pe'er only won 5 out of 10 service games.
Aces: 0
Double faults: 4
1st serve %: 61
1st serve points won: 22/43 (51%)
2nd serve points won: 12/28 (43%)
Total service points won: 34/71 (48%)

Disastrous : that's the only word that come to mind when I see such woeful  stats !

Where did she had her head at ? I'm sorry but this season so far she didn't show she's her n°3 in the world spot worthy ! She only showed so far a top 20 or 25 player performances : that thx to her 4th round at the AO otherwise it would have been worse ! Where's her game of last year ? But for me, I stay put, she distracts herself too much of the real job with the sponsors bull**** ( Rolex the last sponsoring stunt ), with budying up with other players while she had already enough excellent friends on tour ( Viktoria Azarenka, the Radwanska sisters, Sorana Cirstea to name some ) and some other stuff I don't know because I just am a fan ! I'm sorry, Caroline, you ain't on the right path ! Time to wake up, getting back to the real work and perform like the n°1 in the world you dream to become one day because the downfall never is far at all !

Dubai 2nd round : Caroline Wozniacki defeats Dominika Cibulkova 6-2, 7-6

Didn't watch the match so I won't be able to give you my impressions. But it seems she played well to qualify for the next round. She fought back in the 2nd set though : she was 5-1 and 40-30 behind in that set. In the 1st round she didn't play as she was BYE.

WTA Ranking : Caroline Wozniack new world n°3.

It maybe is no news for many people but today officialy Caroline Wozniacki made a new ranking breakdown by going up a place landing on the 3rd place in the WTA Ranking. The Dane going up third and Kuznetsova going down 4th. That's her best ranking so far in her career !

Australian Open 4th round : Caroline Wozniacki sent packing by Na Li 4-6, 3-6.

Won't say much about the game because Europeans need their sleep sometimes and I don't think I made a mistake by chosing to sleep and not watching the match. What I saw of the statistics, also the comments and highlights about Caroline's match, she was trully awful ! A pure lacklustre performance from Caroline. She had clearly not her head to the match, she already was with her thoughts and mind in the plane for Denmark. She was good in the beginning but after 4-2 in the 1st set in her favor, everything went wrong. She became an error machine and didn't put a fight at all ! At the other side, Li wasn't great at all.

I bet it was her worse performance since a long time ! Yet again, she got beat twice in two weeks by the same opponent and it was worse than in Sydney. She let her fans , her team but above all HERSELF down and embarrassed ! A lack of professionalism and maturity ! That's what happens, in my opinion, when you let yourself too much distracted by things who have nothing to do with tennis. And yet again, she failed to make a Quarter Final in a Grand Slam ! I'm very unhappy and mad at her because she could go further than the 4th round.

Australian Open 3rd round : Caroline Wozniacki crushes Shahar Peer 6-4, 6-0

In this saturday night session, Caroline Wozniacki got a good win against a Peer who gave the Dane some work during the 1st set ! Sunshine started awfuly by being 2-0 behind but she could recover by breaking imediatly back Peer's serve and then holding her serve 2-2 but she had to save 3 break points though. It was even 'till 3-4 where Peer squandered breakpoints on Caroline's serve ! Danish Delight got away with it and kept her serve.

That was the turnpoint of the match because after that the Israeli collapsed : turned into an error machine, didn't know anymore what to do but at the other side Caroline with her mental and defense frustrated Shahar a lot ! The 29th seed wouldn't win a game anymore in this match. Caroline finished the first set without much problem.

The second set was a pure formality for the 4th seed who cruised without much troubles 'till the victory but yet funny enough during the last game Peer fought well but couldn't avoid the baggel despite having had some game points on the 2009 US Open finalist.

It was a good win but I'm still worried about her volleys and also some easy forehands she missed : that were the negative points of the match.

Caroline advance to the 2nd week and the 4th round where she'll meet on monday the girl who beat her 2 weeks ago at Sydney : Na Li of China. It will be a tough match for sure. So beware Caro !

Australian Open 2nd round : Caroline Wozniacki beat Julia Görges 6-3, 6-1

It was not the most beautiful match I watched but Caroline played a solid match : she didn't let her opponent coming in the match ! It wasn't impressive but well more than enough to play a serious encounter. Caroline didn't lose her serve and only faced 2 breakpoints during the match which is already a very good sign.

But there's still her volley's to improve : she still struggle with them with hitting avoidable errors and also her too deep balls who went OUT when it was not needed to hit such balls. I guess it is her focus problems she at times has during a match but like yesterday it was very short. Also she should stop complaining to the chair umpire it won't help her to win the points who have been called out or called in points which she thinks were out : it's useless distraction.

At the other side Julia hit some very good points but as she was inconsistent during the match, it wasn't enough at all to disturb Sunshine. Also she has a quite heavy serve.

Yet I'm satisfied with her match of today.

Caroline will play her 3rd round match on saturday against Shahar Peer.

Australian Open 1st round Doubles : Bacsinszky/Garbin def. Medina Garrigues/Wozniacki 6-4, 6-4

The doubles tournaments is over for Caroline as she lost with her Spanish partner in two sets 6-4, 6-4. Don't know what happened but I don't think AMG is in form. For her it means a double 1st round exit !

Australian Open 1st round : Caroline Wozniacki beat Aleksandra Wozniak 6-4, 6-2.

A match that normaly should have been played yesterday, took place today because of the rain of monday that screwed up the planned schedule. Caroline Wozniacki entered the tournament without a single win in 2010 : she was on a 3 matches losing streak. The match began normaly with both of the players holding their serves but the Dane got well opportunities to break but she squandered them.
We had to wait the 8th game of the match to see a break that came from Caroline Wozniacki who took Wozniak's serve at 4-3 to lead 5-3 but unfortunately she lost directly hers so Blainville's girl could stay in the set but couldn't as she lost her serve and the set 6-4.

The second set was nearly a one way road with Caroline going up to 4-0. The 4th in the world breaking twice the serve of Aleksandra. But Caroline again had a concentration loss with losing her service game, then her opponent holding her serve. 4-2 . It would be the last game the Canadian Wozzy won of the match. Caroline hold and then finished the match by winning 6-4, 6-2.

She could close out the 1st set and the match quicker but didn't do it because of losing the focus but hopefully it only was for a short period of time.

Her opponent in the 2nd round will be Julia Görges who beat Tamira Paszek of Austria in 3 sets : 6-0, 3-6, 6-3.
